SafeNet is organised into nine Work Packages, which are different areas of work that structure the project around specific themes and goals.
Each Work Package focuses on a key part of the project’s mission, such as monitoring biodiversity in carbon-rich forests, modelling future scenarios under climate change and management practices, or co-creating conservation measures with local stakeholders. These areas of work also explore how forest ecosystems respond to climate pressures, how to maintain ecological connectivity across landscapes, and how conservation and protection strategies can be adapted to meet both environmental and social needs.
All Work Packages are closely connected and support one another, helping the project team collaborate effectively and deliver meaningful, science-based solutions for Europe’s forests.
