ForestPaths

ForestPaths is an EU‑funded Horizon Europe project that develops holistic forest‑based policy pathways to strengthen the role of Europe’s forests in climate change mitigation. By co‑designing these pathways with policymakers, practitioners, researchers, and civil society, the project identifies climate‑ and biodiversity‑smart forest management and wood‑use options across Europe. ForestPaths examines how to adapt forests to climate impacts, conserve biodiversity, and sustain essential ecosystem services, while analysing the co‑benefits and trade‑offs of different policy choices. Through its collaborative, evidence‑driven approach, the project supports more effective, transparent, and practical decision-making for Europe’s forest and forest‑based sectors.
