In southern Finland, this case study looks at a mosaic of boreal forests, from old-growth reserves to intensively managed areas. Climate change and pests like the spruce bark beetle are putting pressure on these ecosystems. SafeNet is assessing current practices and co-developing new strategies with local stakeholders, such as private and public forest managers, forest industry players, authorities and NGOs, to improve forest resilience and biodiversity across the landscape.
